1. On the 25th of March the Australian and New Zealand soldiers landed on Banks peninsula 1915.

2. The site where the Anzacs landed “Gallipoli” was re-named Anzac cove.

3. More than 11,000 Anzacs died in Gallipoli despite only being there for 8 months.

4. WWll started on September 1st 1939 and ended on September 2nd 1945.

5.the first dawn service on Anzac day was 1923.

6. Anzac biscuits were made for the soldiers from oats because they don’t go off.

7. A man called Peter Jackson took old films of the war and colorised it all.

8. Most of the Anzacs who fought were volunteers.

9. Poppies are a symbol of the dead bodys because the people who fought got buried and wild poppies grew on them.🥀🌹

10.WWl started on July 28 1914 and ended 11 November 1918.

The encounter

 The encounter

It was 1930 the year Neil Armstrong went  to the moon and then had a big party when he came back. There were 3 astronauts in training who were in a 3000 ton rocket and were about to go to space. They  were so excited 5..4..3..2..1.. BLAST OFF they got into space. They all were floating around when they heard something go crunch, two of them went out to see what it was 20 minutes later... The horrified astronaut could hear his quickened breathing echoing loudly in his suit. He could scarcely believe that he was face to face with an extraterrestrial being. The horror of the Martian’s appearance had shaken him to the bone; he stood stock-still, incapable of movement. His friend had already left him to the monsters, He fainted and he could feel his body drifting away as he himself was drifted into a deep sleep. 

As it seemed like 1 hour it was only five minutes,He heard a faint sound of tapping… TAP ,TAP ,TAP he woke up only to see three weird looking people in a room that looked like prison.

 As he adjusted to the scenery he found out that the three weird looking people were a crew of Martian’s and he was in the spacecraft prison room. He was speechless, in his mind he was thinking of all the horrible things that they would do to him : like deep fry him and cover him in sweet chilli sauce or they might even get a giant alien to gobble him all up. Well he was thinking of some more horrifying things, The Martian barged into the room and interrupted his thoughts, the one that looked like the leader started to speak a language that the astronaut did not understand. Then he was tied with hover rope and was hovered into another room that had two doors. He knew where he was because he was in the ejector room! Beside the door there was a big red button. One of the sidekick Martians put one of their slimy tentacles on the button and took the astronaut with another tentacle !YUCK! But the Martian had pushed the other two Martians into the ejector and hit the button as hard as he could. Maybe he had revenge for a prank? The astronaut saw the horrified faces as they drifted away and watched them get eaten by the space worm and then the one Martian left ripped his slimy skin off under was a familiar face. It was neil armstrong! Didn’t he get off the moon? If he’s here then who’s on earth? To be continued…

Camp at Arthur's Pass

 Camp!!!

It was Tuesday the 15th of September, one day until camp. Everyone in Cana was so excited. I went home as excited as a cat with a box. I did all my usual stuff that I would do at home but I had to pack some gear. Then I ate dinner and went to sleep.

I woke up with a smile on my face. Finally it was camp. My class got to wear mufti. 

We all had to put our gear in the school library then go to class. We had morning prayers. Then at 10:00, a very fancy bus came to drive us all to Arthurs Pass. The driver told us all about himself. It was quite interesting. A hour later 

Cana arrived at Arthurs Pass. It was snowing. We met the instructors named Ruby and Isla and got all our gear into the place we were staying. We got sorted into six different rooms - Aka cabins. I was in a cabin with Charlee, Bella and Tasja. 

The days were mostly the same, just different activities. The day that we got there: Orienteering, coming back, getting into dry clothes, eating lunch, playing board games, eating dinner, getting ready to go to bed and light’s out. 

Second day: breakfast, get changed, sensory trail and shelter building, Devil's Punchbowl, come back get into dry clothes, eat lunch, play board games, eat dinner, get ready for bed, lights out. 

The third day was mostly different. The activities were: building competition at the beach, stealing the kiwi and learning to use radios. 

After the activities the very fancy bus came to take us all home from Arthur’s Pass. I sat with my friend Penny. I was so tired that I slept all the way until Kumara. Penny woke me up and then we arrived at school at 2:30pm. My mum came as soon as we got all our stuff out of the bus.

 There once were three aliens and their names were Eliilsh,Eliza and Nikkla and they were lost. Eliza said in the national alien language “I found a planet about 3 miles away from us “ that was good. They went to the planet that was apparently called earth and the first thing they found was sausage rolls.

 Then they took no notice but someone was coming up to them with a fart gun,the person fired the stinky thing and apparently the sausage rolls were Radioactive. So the sausage rolls were starting to shake and Eliilsh said “uhhhh should we get into cover” Eliza and Nikkla agreed with a loud “Yes” as quick as the wind went they hid in cover the,sausage rolls caused some humongous explosions it stank and the world was a mess. Everyone died because of the smell and that was the end of that.

Hi my name is Elizabeth and my class was doing letters to the prime minister and I hope you enjoy and check out all my other posts 

 Room 4, Cana St. Patrick’s Primary School, Greymouth. 28.5.2020 The Prime Minister of New Zealand Dear Prime Minister Ardern, It’s Elizabeth here, who is 8 years old, and I am writing from St Patrick's Primary School in Greymouth, South Island. I think you did a huge favour for New Zealand because the air pollution has gone down a lot because there aren't that many cars and you're helping us get through the levels one at a time. I didn’t mind the lockdown because my mum and I met more people and waved at more people on our daily walks to stay healthy. Now all I hope is that everyone stays two metres apart so that New Zealand does not have a 2nd wave because we would be hit very badly. THANK YOU! Regards Elizabeth de Oliviera
